This fall, starting in October, WorkMatters celebrates five years of changing lives in the workplace. WorkMatters began in April 2002 at Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, Ark., as an outreach to workers in its own congregation. Within 18 months, Central had recognized that it had tapped into a major need in people's lives, and as a result, in October 2003, WorkMatters was incorporated and became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Since 2003, WorkMatters has grown from a handful of workplace small groups and hosting one annual leadership conference, to influencing thousands of business leaders throughout northwest Arkansas and around the world.
