Job Title: Social Media Marketing Intern

Reports To: Marketing Manager

We believe that work is one of the primary ways we express our God-given dignity as people made in His image, and work is one of the best venues we have to serve others and reach others with the Gospel. When people discover God’s purpose for their work, it is transformational. We help people discover God’s purpose for their work through digital insights, live events, personal and small group studies, and training. Our team works with leaders of all levels nationally and locally.

The Role

Content Marketing: Design and Execution (50%).

Workmatters is making a focused national push in 2017. We believe that more people need to discover God’s purpose for their work. Your role will be an important part of executing the marketing strategy vision, and growing our subscriber list through creative content promotion and social media marketing.

Here's what the work looks like:.

  • - Coordinate with the Marketing Manager to research, set-up and execute the social media strategy for our current social media platforms.
  • - Help design useful content pieces: could include social media graphics, infographics, and other marketing collateral for both email and social media marketing.
  • - Align to the Workmatters styleguide to develop and curate useful content for various social media platforms: tweets, posts, long-form posts, images, short video, etc.
  • - Support in managing email campaigns for each ministry area and the overall organization.
  • - Work with the Marketing Manager and Director of Marketing and Events to review and analyze basic information from social media and Google analytics to inform our social media and content strategy.

Event Support and Operations (50%).

    This will mainly focus on supporting the marketing execution for our major fall event, Workmatters Forum. You would be playing a large role in developing marketing content and posts, and supporting basic event operations.

  • - Help market the event: could include social media, email marketing, various administrative support, design and copy development, as directed by the Marketing Manager.

    • - You are an aggressive learner: you take initiative and aren’t afraid to learn new things, whether it’s a new creative tool, technology, or anything in between.
    • - You have an eye for design. At a minimum, you create awesome looking posts and know your way around an editor like Canva or Photoshop. Best case is that you’re good with the Adobe CS.
    • - You are eager to use your creative strengths in the marketplace environment and have a desire to become stronger in more analytic-driven functions.

    • - You dream in #hashtags and every person you meet is a potential “follower.”

    • Workmatters is a non-profit, non-denominational 501(c)3 ministry focused on helping career-minded Christians discover God’s purpose for their work.
    • This position is a part-time, hourly-paid position.
