Why I’m Involved With Workmatters
I have been a leader in our Tyson Foods Workmatters Leadership@Work Studies for several sessions now. Being involved with fellow team members in the workplace has been an eye-opening experience to see in very real and close-up terms how impactful these studies can be. Psalm 19 says the word of God “makes wise the simple”. I have seen wisdom come from people at all levels in the organization and some junior team members really make some impact on those older in years and higher on the organizational chart. I have seen junior people trust God in a new way for their future and higher-level leaders learn to trust God to do more in their lives and careers than they had imagined. That is why I believe in Workmatters, because it provides a forum for people to learn, share, and grow in the work place regardless of age, demographic, or position of authority.
I believe in the social and political environment we live in, our window of opportunity for these types of studies in the workplace may be short. We need to take advantage of the time we have. I would like to serve on the Workmatters board to have a front row seat for what we can do to make that investment today to impact tomorrow.
